Dr. Layne graduated with honors from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his Doctor of Medicine in 1996 from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. His orthopaedic residency was completed at the Mount Carmel Health System, serving as chief orthopaedic resident in 2001-2002. Since joining OAZ, Dr. Layne also has served as a board member at the Zanesville Surgery Center and as medical director of orthopaedics with Genesis Healthcare System. Dr. Layne specializes in general orthopaedics with a special interest in the care of arthritis including partial and total joint replacement, as well as sports medicine and fracture care. Dr. Layne is also a member of the Ohio Orthopedic Society, a member of the Ohio State Medical Association, and a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic surgeons.
