Orthopaedics Associates of Zanesville would like share a recent recall on two hip replacement products from DePuy Orthopaedics. Although Orthopaedics Associates of Zanesville does not use this particular product, we value the health and well-being of our patients’, their families and their friends.

According to data from the National Joint Registry of England and Wales, about 12 percent of patients receiving the DePuy’s ASR^™ Hip Resurfacing System and 13 percent of those receiving its ASR^™ XL Acetabular System have undergone revision within five years.

DePuy states that it will pay for the cost of physician visits, tests and other procedures associated with the recall. The product was sold internationally only and not in the United States.
